ANDOVER college students are creating a film festival to be held in the town later this year.

Homebrew Film Festival will be held on May 22 2022 at the Andover Odeon cinema on Anton Mill Road.

It is set to be a three-hour showcase of independent filmmakers from the local area and around the UK.

Films submitted to the festival will be 15 minutes or less with three awards handed out on the night to the winners of their respective categories.

The festival is intended to pull the local community together to create a film festival for everyone to enjoy.

Andover College lecturer Peter Hearn said: "This is a very exciting venture for the students to undertake.

"The students are pulling out all the stops to make this a festival Andover will remember for years to come.

"I’m very excited, and the local community should be too."

The festival programmers are taking submissions via FilmFreeway, the online portal for film festival submissions.

Filmmakers can submit their work via www.filmfreeway.com/homebrewfilmfest.
