AN INQUEST has been opened into the death of a man who died on the railway tracks at St Denys.
Gustavo Pablo Santos Dias, of Ranelagh Gardens in Southampton, was found dead on December 29 on the tracks at Horseshoe Bridge.
Horseshoe Bridge was closed off by police officers to both pedestrians and drivers on the day of his death.
The brief inquest opening was told the preliminary cause of the 24-year-old's death was multiple injuries.
The full circumstances of his death are still under investigation.
Area coroner Jason Pegg adjourned the inquest at Winchester Coroner's Court to take place on September 1.
