POLICE have removed an abandoned car which was left 'dangerously' parked outside an infant school.

Officers attended Haydn Road in Brighton Hill on Friday morning following reports from residents that a car had been dumped outside Manor Field Infant School.

After making some enquiries, the car was taken away on the back of a flatbed lorry as it was left both in a dangerous position and on yellow zigzag road markings.

Basingstoke Police have thanked the team at Oakley based company Bakers Recovery for their help with the operation.

A spokesperson for the police said: "Police attended Haydn Road in Brighton Hill following reports of an abandoned vehicle by Manor Field Infant School.

"Following some enquiries, Police were able to get the vehicle removed. This was due to it being left in both a dangerous position outside the school and on yellow zigzag road markings. A big thank you to Rob from Bakers Recovery for his skillful removal of the vehicle."
