A LONGPARISH man has been sent to prison for more than two years after admitting to talking to a child about having sex over a webcam and encouraging a child to engage in sexual activities with him.
John Charles Kingston of North Acre, Longparish, was due to stand trial after denying the offences in March 2021, but on February 14 2022 he changed his plea to guilty.

On Thursday, March 31, the 59-year-old was sentenced at Winchester Crown Court to concurrent sentences of 28 months and 12 months.
Recorder Robin Sellers also ordered that Kingston appear on the sex offenders register for ten years and be subject to a sexual harm prevention order (SHPO) for the same period.
He is also disqualified from working with children for life and was instructed to pay a surcharge of £190.
