A MAN from St Mary Bourne has been fined more than £400 after he admitted to drink driving in Andover last month.

On March, Jake Carter, of Jubilee Villas, was driving along Weyhill Road with 45 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The limit is 35.

At Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on April 14, the 24-year-old admitted to the offence.

He was handed a £440 fine and must also pay costs of £85 and a £44 surcharge.

Hessey was also disqualified from driving for a 12-month period.

AN ANDOVER man has been handed a suspended sentence after admitting to driving with three different types of controlled drug in his system.

On August 21 2021, Adam Warwick, of Atholl Court, was driving a Honda Accord vehicle on King Arthurs Way after taking a variety of drugs.

The 32-year-old had more than 200ug/l of Ketamine, 83ug/l of cocaine compound Benzoylecgonine, and 3.6ug/l of THC, a form of cannabis, in his blood.

The legal limits for driving are 20, 50, and 2 ug for each of the drugs respectively.

At Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on April 26, Warwich admitted to the offences.

He was handed a 14-week custodial sentence in total, suspended for 30 days.

He is also disqualified from driving for 45 months, and must complete up to 30 rehabilitation activity days.

AN ANDOVER man has been fined more than £600 for failing to assist police with a crime involving an Audi driver in London.

On October 5, 2021, Stephen Matthews, of Beckett Road, was asked by the Metropolitan Police to give information relating to the identification of an Audi driver thought to have committed a crime, but failed to do so.

At Bromley Magistrates’ Court on April 20, 2022, Matthews was handed a £660 fine.

He must also pay £100 in costs and a £66 surcharge, and received six penalty points.

A STOCKBRIDGE woman has been handed a fine for drink driving.

On April 1, Samantha Watts, of Longstock Road, was driving in Leckford with 52 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath - when the legal limit is 35.

At Basingstoke Magistrates Court on April 21, the 40-year-old admitted to the offence. She was handed a £266 fine, plus costs of £85 and a £34 surcharge.

She was also disqualified from driving for 12 months.
