Deichmann has confirmed it is opening a new shop in Salisbury.

A spokesperson for the company said it is "a fantastic opportunity" but added that they could not confirm a concrete opening date at present.

The planning application (ref PL/2022/02309), made to Wiltshire Council for alterations to the site in Old George Mall, has now been approved.

The German chain applied to make a new shop front and signage for 31-33 Old George Mall, the vacant retail unit where Topshop used to be.

According to planning application documents, Deichmann owns the site.

The documents say the company is to "undertake a fit out" of the premises, and that the store should offer six full-time and four part-time positions.

Works to the site will include replacing the existing doors with new ‘frameless’ glass doors, with a powder coat finish for the new aluminium frames in grey matte, for "visual amenity".

The new signage will be the company's name in green illuminated LED letters.
