In celebration of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee Oliver's Battery WI group in Winchester have created an impressive crocheted and knitted postbox topper to share with residents.

Secured around the centre crown are approx 100 knitted legs -  a young and older Queen Elizabeth, a horse, and a palace footman, who is in charge of a few of the 23 corgis.

A mass of flowers, bees and bunting complete the display - all of which have been individually sewn onto the topper.

Demelsa Healey , Oliver's Battery WI President , said: “This has been a real team effort over the last few months and I'd like to thank every OBWI member who has joined in with creations for this venture. The organisers have done a fantastic job pulling everything together.

“The finished article is a real tribute from our WI to her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, herself a fellow WI member.

"Thank you Ma'am for your service to the Nation.”

The postbox is located by the newsagents and Barlows the butcher on Oliver's Battery Road South.
