A VILLAGER has been banned from driving after a speeding offence took him over the points limit.
James Doherty, 26, of Chilworth Old Village, Chilworth, was in a 59-reg VW Polo when he drove at 62mph in the 50-zone on the M27 eastbound between junctions 8-9 between Southampton and Whiteley on July 5 last year, a court heard.
Aldershot Magistrates Court banned him for six months under the totting up procedure. Doherty was also fined £40 with £40 costs and ordered to pay the amount by June 20.
