AN ANDOVER man has been handed a fine and driving disqualification after drug driving in Enham Alamein.

Clive Callaway, of Brookside, River Way, was driving a Nissan vehicle along Newbury Road on March 10 with more than 32 microgrammes of cocaine and 800 microgrammes of Benzoylecgonine in his blood.The legal limits are 10 and 50 respectively.

The 51-year-old pleaded guilty to both offences at Basingstoke Magistrates Court on May 26 and was handed a £120 fine.

He was also disqualified from driving for three years, and must pay costs of £85 and a £34 surcharge.

Behind bars

A LUDGERSHALL man has been sent to prison after an offending spree last month.

On May 5, at North Hampshire Hospital, Luke Miles, of no fixed abode, used threatening or abusive language or behaviour towards a man.

Then, on May 6, the 28-year-old sexually assaulted a woman by intentionally touching her without consent.

On the same date, he assaulted two women and a male police officer, and damaged the door of Morrisons supermarket in Andover as well as stealing £24.40 worth of alcohol.

The next day, he committed a further assault on another police officer.

Miles was handed a 12 week prison sentence, and multiple concurrent four week sentences, bringing his total to 16 weeks.

Over drink limit

AN ANDOVER man will have to complete unpaid work after driving while nearly three times the drink drive limit.

On May 7, Sergejs Meiksans, of Berry Way, drove a Skoda Octavia on Cowdon Lane in Cowdon with 101 micrograms of alcohol in 100 milliliters of breath.

The legal limit is 35.

The 43-year-old pleaded guilty at Basingstoke Magistrate’ Court on May 26 and was handed 80 hours of unpaid work.

He was also disqualified from driving for 25 months and will have to pay costs of £85 and a £95 surcharge.

Disqualified

A MAN from Hurstbourne Tarrant has been disqualified for drink driving.

On April 15, Edward Sharpe, of Church Street, drove at Doiley Bottom in Andover with 58 micrograms of alcohol in 100 milliliters of breath.The legal limit is 35.

The 32-year-old pleaded guilty at Basingstoke Magistrate’ Court on May 26 and was handed a £91 fine and a 12-month disqualification.

He must also pay costs of £40 and a £34 surcharge.
