POLICE are appealing for witnesses and information after a teenage girl was robbed in Andover.

Between 7pm and 8pm on Monday, June 20, a 16-year-old girl was walking along the green area between Galahad Close and Camelot Close, with a child in a pushchair, when she was approached from behind by a man unknown to her.

The man demanded money and jewellery from the girl before taking items from the pushchair including a blue Ralph Lauren jacket, a black Armani hat with a white logo and a bag. 

He then walked off in the direction of Camelot Close.

During the incident, the girl saw a woman in a wheelchair and asked her to call 999.

The girl was not injured.

The bag was subsequently located by Anton Lakes.

The man is described as:

  • Mixed race
  • Aged between 30 to 40
  • Approximately 6ft 3 inches tall
  • Large muscular build
  • Dark hair in a buzz cut
  • Tattoos on face, neck and arms. These include a faded tattoo across his right elbow, a cross under his right eye, a teardrop under his left eye and a piercing through his left eyebrow
  • Wearing a white Armani t-shirt and white Armani joggers
  • Having a deep voice with a Birmingham accent

A Hampshire Constabulary spokesperson said: "We would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident and anyone who lives in the area who has private CCTV, including Ring Doorbell footage that may have captured the something.

"Perhaps you were driving in the area at the time and have dash-cam footage?"

They continued: "We are also keen to identify the woman in the wheelchair who was asked to call 999. We believe this person may be able to assist with our investigation. 

"Anyone with information should call us on 101 or report online at hampshire.police.uk, quoting reference 44220245733.
