Entries are now being accepted for the 2022 Blackburn 10k run.

Scores or runners are expected to descend on the town later this year for the annual race, which sees participants cover 10 kilometres (6.2 miles) around the town in a bid to be the quickest.

The route this year will take in a number of Blackburn's landmarks, starting and finishing at the home of Blackburn Rovers, Ewood Park.

It heads out into the town centre following a loop along closed roads on a new route for 2022 before ending back at Ewood Park.

At the start/finish line there will also be live music, food and entertainment to make it a real family day out for runners and spectators alike.

Entry is now open, and with a restricted field of 3,000 runners, don't leave it too late and risk missing out on a potential new PB.

There is also a kids race on the day.
