A FIRE involving around 40 tonnes of household waste has been extinguished.
Fire crews raced to the scene of a large fire at a waste site in Milford Road in Lymington yesterday, June 28, evening.
Residents were told to keep their doors and windows shut due to smoke in the area.

The blaze was extinguished after 9pm last night and crews remained on the scene to dampen down.
Crews from Lymington, New Milton, Beaulieu, Romsey and Ringwood were in attendance after being alerted to the incident at 4.51pm.
Water carriers from Eastleigh and Ringwood and a command support vehicle from Portchester also attended the scene.
