AN ANDOVER man has been fined after he drove his car in a condition which posed the danger of causing injury.
On November 3, 2021 on the A338 in Tidworth, Wojciech Marcin Bukowski, of Walworth Road, drove a Mercedes-Benz when the rear tyres were described as “racing slick” in that there was hardly any tread grooves present in order to identify the make or other features of the tyre.
Despite difficulty, the rear off side was eventually measured as 0.97mm and the rear nearside was measured as 1.13mm.
He pleaded not guilty on May 5, but the case was proved in his absence on May 31.
On June 28 at Swindon Magistrates’ Court, he was handed an £80 fine, plus a surcharge of £34.
His driving record was further endorsed with three penalty points.
