AN APPLESHAW school has been highlighted for introducing internationalism into the classroom by the British Council.
Appleshaw St Peter’s CofE Primary School was recently awarded the British Council International School Award Foundation Certificate.
The school said the award is for introducing internationalism and the benefits of learning in a global context.

Headteacher Ian Hickman said: “We are delighted to have received this award. It is testament to the hard work of all the teaching staff and highlights the expertise and effort they have shown in welcoming the diverse array of nationalities and supporting internationalism in the classroom.
“We hope to develop our work in this enriching area and aim for International School Intermediate level and eventually to International School Award Accreditation."
The accolade also highlights the school’s multicultural pupils and teaching staff, with six different nationalities represented.
