This old Echo advert provides us with a nostalgic reminder into the various eateries once available at Southampton's old Debenhams department store.

The main thrust of the advert, which was published on August 15, 1980,  was to promote a £2.45 meal known as the Big Value Zip Lunch - whatever that was!

The deal was available at the second-floor restaurant and Debenhams were seemingly eager to announce there were "three facilities within one store catering for every need. Fast or leisurely meals for your shopping break."

The lower ground floor Springles Restaurant apparently had "the very best in self service catering."

The advert continued: "The emphasis is on delicious foods available throughout the day prepared with care and served in a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. Prices are attractive and value for money is the keynote."

On the first floor, The Coffee Shop was ideal "for light meals and quick service.
