A CCTV image has been launched as part of a police probe into a 'nasty and unprovoked' assault in which a woman was spat at and headbutted.
Police are looking to speak to the woman in the image as part of their investigation into a shoplifting and assault at The Chantry Centre between 2pm and 2.10pm on Tuesday, 26 September.
A woman was seen leaving the New Look store in the shopping centre without paying for clothing and a member of staff then challenged the woman in the shopping centre car park.
The woman assaulted the victim by spitting at her and headbutting her, before walking away.
The victim attended hospital as a precaution.
Police have released the CCTV image this week to help their investigations.
PC Sarah Page said: “This was a nasty and unprovoked assault. Enquiries are continuing and I would urge anyone who recognises the woman in this CCTV picture to contact us as soon as possible.
Anyone who recognises this woman, or has any information about what happened, should call 101, quoting 44170373530.
The woman who attacked the staff member is described as white, with blonde hair, 5ft 10ins tall, around 30-years-old, of large build and was wearing a white vest, black leggings, and a grey Adidas hooded top.
