AN APPEAL for information has been made after fears fraudsters tried to target two Stockbridge stores.
On Friday 12 January between 5pm and 5.30pm two males entered two high street stores making low value purchases and then asked for a large quantity of £20 notes to be changed over at the till.
The cashiers at both the Co-op store and Beccy’s Greengrocers did not carry out the requests due to concerns the notes were fake or a slight of hand scam would be carried out.
Call 101, quoting the reference 44180019130 with any information.
