POLICE are appealing for information after a pensioner was verbally abused in a 'frightening' road rage incident.

The 83-year-old man was verbally abused by another motorist in Red Rice Road at around 10.45am on Friday, 26 January.

The incident involved a man driving a 4x4-type vehicle, possibly a Range Rover, and the 83-year-old, who was driving a blue Ford Focus car. The 4x4 driver verbally abused the 83-year-old man and blocked his car, before driving off.

Police are looking for information about the man driving the 4x4-type vehicle.

He is described as white and aged in his mid to late 30s. He is of slim build with light coloured receding hair.

Sergeant Gary Lyons said: “This was a very frightening experience for the victim and we are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed what happened.

“The incident itself held up other traffic in Red Rice Road, so if you were affected by what happened, please get in touch.”
