HATCH Warren Infant School has been learning about the First World and remembering all the people involved 100 years ago.

The children each made a poppy from a plastic bottle and at the end of the week they were all put together as a display of remembrance while the pupils, parents and staff have been working together to create a giant poppy of remembrance out of ribbons.

They were all able to tie a ribbon on for a small donation to the British Legion.

In an assembly, the school also had some special visitors including one who played 'The Last Post' on his trumpet to mark a two minute's silence. Another visitor shared stories of his grandad during the Great War and the children were allowed to hold his medals.
