FIVE people who were arrested yesterday in connection with a serious assault have now been released by police.
As reported by the Gazette, the five people - two men in their 30s from Basingstoke and three men in their 20s – two from Basingstoke and one from Middlesex were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder.
All five were arrested following an assault on a 31-year-old man in Gershwin Road, Brighton Hill on October 31, which left the victim with life changing injuries.
Officers attending the incident which happened on Halloween found the victim in a rear garden of a residential property in Gershwin Road with serious head injuries.
The five suspects have now been realised by police but remain under investigation.
The victim of the attack still remains in hospital where his injuries are currently described as life changing.
