HAVING taken a leap of faith to pursue a career in dancing at the age of 21, Erin Boag has now become one of the most established ballroom dancers in the UK.

The Kiwi native is now set to embark on her twelfth dancing tour with her partner and Strictly Come Dancing star Anton du Beke.

This new production is called Dance Those Magical Movies, which comes hot off the success of last year’s Dance Those Magical Musicals.

Explaining where the idea for the new show came from Erin said: “Every year we try and come up with a new concept and make every year special and top the year before.

“We did musicals last year and it was great because people could relate to it so we thought we would do the same with movies and it is something that Anton and I both love.

“It also means we can go across all the different eras of movies from the Greatest Showman to Breakfast at Tiffany's.”

With sensational choreography set to music that made it big on the silver screen, expect a Hollywood red carpet premiere performance from the pair when they come to Basingstoke.

Along with singer Lance Ellington, a spectacular dance ensemble and a stunning 23-piece orchestra led by conductor Richard Balcombe, Erin and Anton will perform at the Anvil on February 28, 2020.

A venue that the pair are familiar with.

Reflecting on her pervious visit to the town Erin said: “The anvil is fantastic, and we get a wonderful crowd, it is one of those venues that we do get a lot of return people there so we see a lot of familiar faces.

“We love performing in Basingstoke, the stage has a lovely wooden floor which is great for dancing.”

With Anton still very much a part of the Strictly family, Erin stepped away from the BBC show to start her own family.

“I’m still very much a fan of the show,” she added.

“I do miss the friendship and bond that you have with your partner but there is a lot of time that goes in to it.”
