Basingstoke-based Sauter Automation Limited has announced the appointment of Chris Reid as its new UK managing director.

The Swiss firm, whose UK head office is at Chineham Business Park, specialises in providing smart technology to regulate room temperature and lighting.

Chris, who has two decades in experience working for the company, said; "I am really excited by the opportunity to lead this business and build on the amazing growth that it has achieved over the last few years under Mark's leadership.

"It is a great time to join the Sauter 'Family' with Modulo 6 and the Smart Actuator range both coming to the UK this year. These are innovative products which I believe will see us take a big step ahead of the market."

His previous role was as head of sustainability Operations for Mitie Energy's UK business, where he gained experience of the large-scale management of commercial properties.

Mark has spent over 25 years with Sauter in various technical and commercial roles before being appointed as UK MD. In his new position he will have responsibility for Sauter’s subsidiary businesses across the key European region alongside support for these functions in the Middle East, Asia Pacific, Africa and the US.

He will now spend much of his time based in Basel, Switzerland, home to Sauter's Head Office. Commenting on his new role, Mark said; "Sauter has a well earnt reputation for providing the highest quality engineering solutions, backed by strong support and training functions. Our new products are set to put us at the forefront of building automation which makes this an exciting time to be taking on this international role."

Over the last 100 years, the Sauter Group has been working to develop its products and solutions for building management and room automation.

Sauter Group has grown in recent years and now employs 2,500 people worldwide with a turnover of around €445 million, making it one of the leading providers in the building automation sector.

The UK company has its headquarters in Basingstoke with other offices in London, Manchester and Wolverhampton.
