It was quite uplifting, to be part of the mass applause for the NHS, last Thursday night.
Where we would be without the doctors, nurses and paramedics, does not bear thinking about?
But lets not forget the army of cleaners, porters, caterers and volunteers, who support them.
We should also be thanking the workers in the shops and supermarkets, who, despite the risks, are trying to keep the shelves stocked, the fact that they are facing abuse from customers defies belief.
Again they are supported by the producers and the growers, the pickers in the distribution depots, and the drivers, who get the goods to the shops.
In fact we owe a big thank you to all those who are continuing working, keeping the country running and maintaining some level of normality during these difficult times.
