A REHABILITATION service near Hartley Wintney has kept it's 'good' rating after an inspection from the care watchdog.

Mildmay Oaks, on Odiham Road, Phoenix Green, was found to be 'good' at all five categories looked at by the Care Quality Commission: safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led.

The report of January's inspection, released last month, found that staff at the low security and locked rehabilitation for people with learning disability and autism spectrum disorder "provided a range of care and treatment interventions suitable for the patient group and consistent with national guidance on best practice".

It found that the wards were safe, clean and well equipped, whilst "leaders had the skills, knowledge and experience to perform their roles, had a good understanding of the service they managed, and were visible in the service and approachable for young people and staff".

"Staff treated young people with compassion and kindness. They respected young people’s privacy and dignity. They understood the individual needs of young people and supported young people to understand and manage their care, treatment or condition," the report continued.

The facility was rated as requires improvement in May 2018, whilst it was under a different provider. In September, the service was updated to 'good'.

Claire Reader, Operations Director at Priory Healthcare, said: “I am delighted with the CQC report as it demonstrates the tremendous contributions the staff team at Mildmay Oaks make to the service and the patients they support.

"The service has a great team that provides excellent treatment, which makes a meaningful and lasting difference to patients’ lives. It really is a lovely community at Mildmay Oaks.”
