POLICE are warning about card scammers operating in Test Valley.

A resident reported to officers that a caller, claiming to be from Lloyds Bank said they needed to exchange her bank card, with a person then coming to her address, and even giving her a replacement card.

The person then took her bank card and asked for the PIN number.

The victim consequently lost a 'considerable' amount of money from their account.

Hampshire Constabulary said: "Fraudsters can appear legitimate and act with confidence, however no bank would ever act this way. If it sounds wrong, then assume it is and hang up."
