A PUB IN BRAISHFIELD is set to unveil its new B&B to customers in October.

The Dog and Crook Pub has come under new management in the past two weeks.

Chris May, the new manager, will be spearheading the launch of the pubs new B&B alongside owners Alan and Miriam Arthur on October 1.

The new facility will have six ensuite rooms costing £100 - £125 a night including a complementary continental breakfast.

A newly revamped beer garden is also set to open at the side of the new B&B building which can be found to the left of the pub.

Pub manager, Chris May has run pubs for the past 16 years and despite only being manager for two weeks, he told the Daily Echo that he has already 'fell in love with the place.'

He said: "the people that live in the area are great, I love hearing all of the stories they have to tell, its great to work for such a nice community."

Chris told the Echo that the pub will also be launching a new menu on September 10 and they also intend to introduce more events in the future.

Every summer the pub hosts a garden party where there is music, a bbq and a hog roast.

Chris said: "unfortunately due to the B&B development we haven't had the garden party this year but we definitely will have it back next summer."

Miriam Arthur has owned the pub with her husband for the past 12 years and she said she couldn't imagine working anywhere else.

She said: "the rooms look gorgeous and there aren't any other pubs with B&Bs round here so we really hope it will be a hit."

The new B&B is set to employ four local people and the pub are already taking bookings over the phone.

Chris said: "we hopefully will soon have a booking system online soon as well."

The pub also has a large dining area where they can host wedding parties, wakes and Christmas do's.
