THE Bighton Fete visited the past on Sunday as it explored how the village looked 100 years ago.
Marquees and gazebos were decorated with Union Jack bunting and there was a special display of maps from 1911.
The usual fete attractions were there, too, with plenty of games for the visitors to play.
A falconry display from ‘A Fistful of Feathers,’ Llamas from South America and various dog competitions added to the interactions on offer.
Robert Ellis, one of the organisers for the fete, said: “There was food and drink aplenty. The wonderful cream tea sponsored by the British Cream Tea Society sold out.
“The BBQ sold out and the bar was nearly drunk dry. “We also had a vintage Austin 7 display.”
The proceeds from the event are thought to be in the region of £4,500.
This will be split equally between the Village Hall and the Parish Church.
