PLANS to extend a Meon Valley traveller site have been refused.
Mr Green had applied to make room for more pitches at Greenacres, Pricketts Hill in Shedfield.
But Winchester City Council planning officers have used their delegated powers to turn the plans down.
There were also 30 public objections against the application, which looked to add five pitches for five mobile homes, five touring caravans and the erection of five day rooms.
Mark Blanchard, who lives in Pricketts Hill, said:" We have, in the last 10 years, had three different mobile home sites permitted within 100m of our dwelling, with another looking like happening opposite making four.
"Surely there must be a limit to what is acceptable. They are now becoming an eyesore and have a detrimental effect on what was a Natural Beauty Area but is certainly not now.
"They increasingly dominate us as a settled local family community, such inappropriate development being harmful to this green belt area.
"To protect the 'settled community' further such developments should be halted."
