Wherwell v Ramsdell.

KJM sponsored Wherwell travelled to Ramsdell to find a damp pitch and were put into bat. They started very slowly losing Taylor in the fifth over and Ed John and Craig Beckingham followed shortly after. Alex Gladwyn and Dave Langford started the rebuild but Gladwyn was caught behind to the last ball before drinks at 23 overs. More wickets fell as Wherwell never got going leaving them on 159-8 from their 45 overs. In reply Wherwell couldn't get the early breakthrough required and their energy drained quickly in the hot sun. The pitch dried out and became a lovely strip as Wherwell finally got a couple of wickets but Ramsdell planned the run chase perfectly as they won by four wickets with two balls to spare.

Wherwell II v Broughton.
Wherwell were invited to bat and on the back of two wins there was a positive feeling but it didn’t last long.
Faced with steady line and length bowling the batsmen surrendered with only Mick Ling with 17 threatening to hang around.
In the 22nd over Wherwell were 46-8 but Paul Whyton and Harry Trebert dug in, both riding their luck and keeping the visitors in the field. Whyton was eventually caught for 11 out of a partnership of 50 and when the last wicket fell the score was a below par 99 with Trebert was 30 not out.
The bowling had to be tight but from the off there were too many loose balls with the only successes a great diving catch by Oli Emslie off Trebert and the former then producing a toe crusher for a plumb lbw. But the visitors reached the total in half the overs with eight wickets in hand.
