ANDOVER New Street travelled to Team Solent last Saturday only to be beaten 4-2 by the south coast side.

It was a disappointing result for New Street, as their run of poor run of form continues.

As has been the case in recent games, New Street missed their key players through suspensions and injuries.

New Street opened the scoring through Ilyas Warshow after just four minutes, but Solent equalised before half time meaning it was all square at the mid way mark.

After half time, New Street failed to defend and paid the price as Solent put three more goals past them.

Shane Lock tried to pull 'the Street' back into the game with a goal just before the 80th minute, but his efforts were in vain.

New Street manager John Smith said after the game: "It was difficult today for the boys to get motivated for obvious reasons. We are now looking forward to our cup game on Tuesday against Andover Town. It's important for the boys to get some silverware at this point in the season when spirits are down."

New Street winners of the North Hants Senior Cup this season are this evening away at Andover Town in the Andover Open Cup semi-final.

Then on Saturday their final league game is at Baffins Milton Rovers.

They played the same opponents last Wednesday at home and ended up on the wrong end of a 4-1 scoreline.

However, the efforts of a side already relegated could not be faulted.

Unfortunately they got off to the worse possible start by conceding a goal inside the opening three minutes and from then on they were largely on the back foot.

The goal came from a long cross from the left, goalkeeper George Baxter parried Jason Parish’s header and Callum Dart was quickest to the loose ball at the far post.

The first home attack saw Shane Lock escape down the left and his shot from the angle to strike the outside of the post.

The visitors looked set to add a second, but Baxter produced a great save with his legs to deny Tyler Moret.

However, the same striker then was able to score to make it 2-0 at half-time

After the interval, Baffins added a third as Dart scored after a corner was not cleared.

They then added a fourth as Moret converted a cross from Jason Parish.

New Street then pulled a goal back after Shane Lock was brought down in the area and got up to convert from the spot.
