HARRY Trebert took a career best of 6-30 as KJM Sponsored Wherwell CC won at Basingstoke and North Hants IV by eight wickets.

The home side won the toss and elected to bat on a scorching day at Castle Field.

An amazing Wherwell bowling display ensured that Basingstoke were bowled out for 100 runs in 22 over.

Trebert started of the proceedings with a wicket off the first and third ball of the innings.

Opening bowlers Trebert and Oliver Emslie took nine wickets between them to decimate the Basingstoke batting line up in 18 overs.

Only resistance coming from Rowan Simpson (20) and Rob Norwell (26).

Trebert was the toast of Wherwell with career best 6 -30.

Oliver Emslie carried on his good from with 3-39, Steve Turner 1-14 chipped with the final wicket.

Wherwell’s batting made short work of the target chasing the runs 102-2 in 20.1 overs.

Skipper Robbie Skeates made a quick fire 30.

Matt Cutts on the back of last week’s hundred scored 32 not out with Oliver Emslie unbeaten on 15 as Wherwell got home for the loss of two wickets.

The excellent result moved Wherwell to fifth in the Hampshire League County Division Four table

This weekend, Wherwell are at home to Hursley Park III who are 11th in the table.
