ANDOVER first team's Southern League Division One home game with New Milton was washed out by heavy overnight rain last weekend.

This week the side make the short trip across north Hampshire to champions elect Hook and Newnham Basics hoping to complete a league double over the side, who need only two points to be crowned champions.

Due to last week's game being washed out a minutes silence in honour of club stalwart Lesley Morgan will be held this Saturday at 12.55pm, before the start of the seconds team's game against Sway.

Andover CC along with the Southern League cricket, Wiltshire and the recreational game in north-west Hampshire has been saddened by news of the death of Lesley.

She was the club’s President, past secretary, scorer, registration and Club Mark officer to name but many roles.

Lesley was an integral member of Andover for over 40 years and right up until her untimely death, was actively pushing Andover Cricket C lub forwards as President of the club.

She was massively involved with scorer coaching/development and was a past chairman of the Wiltshire CAO.

She also scored for the Minor Counties team.

Lesley’s funeral is at Salisbury Crematorium on Friday, August 30 at 1pm and all are welcome.

there will be a Lesley Morgan match at London Road on Saturday, September 7 which will be an inter club T20 game with a few special guests.

The game will start at 3pm and will then lead straight into the club's annual presentation evening which will start at 6.30pm.
