ANDOVER New Street the lowest ranked side left in the Hampshire Senior Cup have been drawn at home in the quarter-finals to Southern League Division One outfit Moneyfields.

To reach this stage of the competition the Wessex League Division One promotion chasers won away away at Totton and Eling and beat Lymington at home in the last round.

The other three ties in the competition will see Bashley take on Eastleigh, the winners of AFC Totton and Southampton will be at home to Gosport Borough, while AFC Bournemouth will face a trip to either Sholing or AFC Stoneham.

This weekend, New Street will be looking to sign-off 2019 with their eighth straight victory, when they travel to Romsey this Saturday in the Wessex League Division One.

The promotion hunters cruised to 5-1 success when the sides last met back in November at Foxcotte Park. Ilyas Warshaw netted a hat-trick on that day, while Shane Lock and Jason Silver were also on target.

Last Saturday, New Street’s game at New Milton was postponed.

ANDOVER Town have a tough game at home this Saturday to one of the Division One promotion favourites Bemerton Heath Harlequins.

Town have already lost twice to Bemerton 6-0 in the Wessex League Cup in August and 4-2 in the league a month later with Josh Bertie grabbing a brace for Town in that game.

Andover’s form has certainly improved since then, but they will have to stop the league’s leading scorer in Justin Bennett.

Last Saturday, their game at Laverstock was postponed.

WHITCHURCH United will hope it is third time lucky when they entertain Tadley Calleva in the semi-final of the North Hants Senior Cup on January 7.

The game fell foul to the weather last Wednesday for the second and then on Saturday, the Jam Boy’s game against Petersfield went the same way.

This weekend, Whitchurch are away to Totton and Eling, who they beat 2-0 at Longmeadow back in September, thanks to goals from Declan Shuttleworth and Lloyd Thompson scored the goals

OVERTON United’s home derby clash against Stockbridge in the Hampshire Premier League Senior Division last Saturday was postponed.

Both sides have a weekend off, before returning to action on January 4, Overton are at home to Alton Reserves in hr Hampshire Trophy, while Stockbridge have a league trip to Liss.
