ANDOVER Hockey Club Ladies triumphed 2-0 over mid-table rivals Yateley to earn revenge for their defeat earlier this season.
The firsts started strongly, determined to get one over on their opponents who had beaten them 3-2 in the reverse fixture last October.
Midfielders Karen Winnett, Kate Wiseman and Emily Lawson controlled the middle of the pitch well.
Andover’s persistence was rewarded with an early goal when Lisa Crack passed to Chloe Franklin who powered the ball into the bottom right corner.
Good defensive work and vital saves made by goalkeeper Karman Norman allowed Andover to go into the second half with a 1-0 lead.
Andover’s relentless efforts continued after half time with Rhea Li and Katy Evans making some excellent attempts at goal.
A goal finally came when Crack’s square pass allowed Sammy Meredith to smash the ball into the bottom left corner.
Andover’s great performance secured them a well-deserved 2-0 victory.
In other results, Andover Ladies seconds were beaten 2-0 at home to New Forest Ladies and Andover Ladies thirds lost 6-1 away to USP Ladies.
