ANDOVER’S Jake Archer rounded off a super season at Brands Hatch, with another double podium finish.
Archer, second in this year's championship, battled with champion Tom Booth Amos all weekend and collected two more second place trophies.
Race one began in near perfect track conditions, it was Archer who got the hole shot closely followed by Asher Durham, Eugene McManus and Booth Amos in fourth.
The City Lifting riders Archer and Booth Amos hit the front in lap three and began a two bike battle for first place.
The Andover rider was looking good to pinch a win off his rival until lap nine of 10 when champion Booth Amos took the lead and rode to victury just 0.532 ahead of Archer.
Race two was almost a carbon copy of the previous days race one with Booth Amos winning followed closely home by Archer.
The Andover rider has been consistent throughout with three wins and 14 second place finishes. There is no doubt the Andover ace will be a strong favourite for the title next season If he carries on in this class.
Archer said: “This season has been great, I’m still a little disappointed to finish second again in the Championship but Tom has been so strong, I couldn’t have done anymore.
“Competing with him at every race has definitely made me a better rider, I’ve ridden in a British Grand Prix and come second in a Championship so on reflection it’s been a fantastic year.
“Thank you so much to all my sponsors and supporters in 2017, I cant wait to be back in 2018.”
