DURING this year’s National Volunteers’ Week the Thruxton-based Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance is maximising efforts to recruit more volunteers.
The charity is particularly focused on getting support in areas of the county where they have fewer volunteers.
Co-ordinator Kirsty Davies, said: “We welcome all offers of help, whether a regular commitment, or a few hours every so often.
“We want our volunteers to feel that the time they spend with the charity is valued, and that they gain something from it too. Our volunteers are part of a large and growing family of supporters and we value each and every one of them.”
As the charity expands its operations the cost of keeping the air ambulance flying and saving lives is set to increase significantly. For this reason it is becoming ever more imperative that we have volunteers to help raise the much needed funds.
