A WOMAN has died after a fire at a house in Andover this morning.
The elderly woman, who has not yet been identified, died at the scene of the blaze in Pen Close.
Firefighters from Hampshire Fire and Rescue battled the flames, which started in a bedroom around 6.15am this morning.
They used four sets of breathing apparatus, two jets and two hose reels to put out the blaze.
The woman, who is yet to be named, died at the scene and an investigation has been set up by police and the fire service.
A statement released today from the fire service said: “The cause of the fire is unknown at this stage. A joint investigation with Hampshire Constabulary will commence today to determine what happened."
