AN ANDOVER mum has been crowned one of the best in Britain.

Donna Jackson was recently named one of the four winners of the Britain’s ACE Parents Award after being named as Hampshire’ s ACE Parent earlier this year.

The mum, who receive d the overall prize at the Pride of Andover Awards in October, was recognised for the wa y she cares for her young daughter Frankie , wh o has Down Syndrome .

Mrs Jackson, wh o was nominated for the award by friend Vivien Tarrant, was also commended for the setting up of viral Facebook group, “Frankie Says Relax About T21”, and raising over £3,500 for Action for Children’s Acor n Centre in Andover.

The mother, who recently gave birth to her second child, set up the group to help and advise other parents whose children have Down Syndrome.

The group now has over 8,500 likes .

On receiving the award, which is sponsored by stain removing brand ACE Gentle, Mrs Jackson said: “I’m a little gobsmacked and overwhelmed, but I’m probably like any other parent and just do what is best for my child.

“I wouldn’t change anything about Frankie , she’ s awesome .

“I would like to say a big thank you to my husband Scott, who is my rock and such a great father, and also to ACE Gentle for choosing me as the winner.”

Alongside the award, Mrs Jackson also receive d a dinner and a hotel stay with husband, Scott, at the five star Lainston Country House in Winchester.

Kieran Childs from Ayrshire, Ila and Ramesh Gangotra from Berkshire and Hilary Minter from Yorkshire, were also named as AC E Parent winners .
