A MAN has died after he was run over and trapped by his own vehicle in Upper Chute.
The incident happened on Butts Hills shortly before 10am on Tuesday 10 May.
The man, said to be in his 70s, was struck by his own vehicle after he had parked it near to his home.
He was trapped under the wheel following the collision.
A nearby farmer was able to use his own tractor to lift the vehicle from the man prior to the arrival of the emergency services.
The man was airlifted to Southampton General Hospital and was previously said to be in a 'critical condition'.
However Wiltshire Police now say the man has died from his injuries.
Sergeant Scott Hill said: “The victim sustained serious injuries as a result of this incident and was flown to Southampton General Hospital by air ambulance. Sadly, he passed away today.
"His family have been informed and our thoughts remain with them at this difficult time.
“The road was closed for four-and-a-half hours to allow specialist officers to carry out a full investigation.
“We would like to appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to call police on 101 immediately.
