STUDENTS at Winton Community Academy took a trip to London for a day of sightseeing.
About 110 Year 7 pupils rode the tube from Richmond to South Kensington. Starting at the Natural History Museum, the group ventured to Hyde Park for lunch, saw Buckingham Palace, the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben and Nelson’s Column, before ending the day at Covent Garden.
Student Shakia Keene said: “London was so enjoyable, extremely noisy and very exciting on the train. I would love to go again.”
The school also recently held a “no pens day”, focusing on speaking and listening activities.
Head Nathan Thomas said: “It was a great success with a variety of learning taking place.”
