POLICE have issued a warning about fake email paedophile alerts.
Officers issued the alert after fraudulent emails have been received in the Thames Valley area stating that they have been sent on behalf of "Neighborhood Alert" and containing the following links:
From: info.cFZgeSC4Ch@lepmieseorthy.blowquest.com on behalf of Neighborhood Alert _Kids Live
Safe: eFiwODKtj2Te@lepmieseorthy.blowquest.com.
This message went through to a Neighbourhood Watch co-ordinator in the Berkshire area, stating it was from Neighborhood Alert. (Note the spelling.)
The information in the heading reads "Pedophile Alert in Your Area" "Neighborhood Safety Notice. Does a Sexual Predator live in your Neighborhood Please click here".
Police are warning not to open the emails or click on the links as they will go through to a fraudulent email. Anyone who receives such an email is asked to report it to Action Fraud.
