A WINTON Community Academy mum has been fined by magistrates for her child's failure to attend school regularly.
The parent, who cannot be named for legal reasons, admitted that her child failed to attend the school regularly between October 2015 and December 2016 when she appeared in Basingstoke Magistrates' Court recently.
She was fined £80 and made the subject of a parenting order requiring her to notify the school on the first day of absence, provide medical evidence for absences and attend meetings with the school or other agencies when required.
It also requires her to report any difficulties in attending raised by the child and to attend counselling and guidance sessions for a period of three months.
She was also ordered to pay a £30 victim surcharge and £50 costs.
