Andover care home residents were able to get their groove on in the latest Zumba Gold craze last week.
Harrier Grange care home, in Hawker Siddeley Way, arranged the activity to keep residents fit and active with Lynn Redman from charity Valley Leisure leading the session.
Zumba Gold develops cardiovascular capacity, muscular strength and endurance, as well as promoting improved bone density and prevention of osteoporosis.
Harrier Grange care home director Kay Kelly said: “From our experience, activities which involve exercise with an element of fun are always a hit with residents.
“Zumba Gold is great because it has a genuine health benefit, but also the amusement of shaking the maracas to the rhythm of the music and movement.
“It was open to all the residents and it was equally as effective if you took part seated in your chair, which meant everyone could get involved without necessarily having to have 100 per cent mobility.
“It brought a smile to all of their faces and everyone asked when Lynn was going to visit again - I have assured them she will be back again soon!"
