A 90-year-old woman was rescued from a fire at her Broughton home in a "time critical" operation yesterday.
A careline company alerted Andover firefighters to an alarm sounding from the Horsebridge Road house at 1.19pm, as the woman's kitchen was ablaze.
The elderly resident was given immediate emergency care from the fire crews while she was conscious and breathing, before being treated further by the South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS).
Firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze by 2pm.
