THE owners of a Penton Mewsey wedding venue are “on cloud nine” after scoring success with a string of awards last month.

Family-run estate Penton Park began hosting weddings after owners Guy and Danielle Rolfe themselves got married there, and now the couple are in the business of helping others do the same.

In November, the Rolfes were named as the best countryside wedding venue at The Wedding Industry Awards in the central and southern region, and were named in the top 30 places to get married in the UK for 2018, according to online wedding planning app Bridebook.

The Hampshire country house made the tables alongside the likes of The Ritz in London.

Danielle Rolfe also won the small business prize for The Venus Awards celebrating women in business, making Penton Park score a full hattrick.

Mr Rolfe said: “We are literally on cloud nine. In our second full year in we have had 71 five-star reviews from happy attendees that have parted in our home.

“Danielle and I got married at the house five years ago as we didn’t want to get married anywhere else and so we thought - if we can get married here, what’s stopping other people getting married here?

“We moved from our family home in Chelsea and down to Andover, we have loved every year that we have lived here. We have an amazing event coordinator Michelle Ellis, that without her the weddings just wouldn’t run as they do.

“Hopefully winning these awards is going to mean that we get to expand our offering, employ more people and contribute more to the local economy, such exciting times ahead!”

Penton Lodge is home to the couple, their three children and Mr Rolfe’s parents.
