AN ANDOVER weight loss coach has conquered her fears in aid of a charity close to her heart.

Natalie Musgrove took on her fear of heights by abseiling the Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth on May 28.

Weight Watchers coach Natalie fundraised for the charity Brain Tumour Research after the death of her uncle Sam in 2015.

She said: “My uncle Sam was diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2013 and after undergoing treatment at the Royal Marsden Hospital in Surrey he died in August 2015, just over 18 months after he was diagnosed.”

It is not the first time that Natalie has raised funds for the charity having previously had her hair shaved, but this time the challenge of scaling a 550-feet tower was more daunting.

Speaking after the challenge, she said: “Wow, what an experience that was, [I’m] absolutely buzzing and really want to do it again. I was absolutely petrified before hand with loads of tears in the half hour preceding the abseil.

“Just like when I visited the tower a couple of years ago, I got out of the lift and my knees turned to jelly, then manoeuvring myself off the platform and onto the side of the tower was the most shaky experience of my life. But once I’d started to go down the adrenaline kicked in and I was abseiling. I even managed to push away from the tower for some of it.”

So far Natalie has raised more than £430.
