GREEN-FINGERED gardeners made the most of the sunny weather to peruse over plants at the town’s inaugural gardening fair.

Young and old alike visited the event in the town centre which brought together plant producers offering a range of flora on June 24.

The fair, organised by the Andover Town Centre Partnership, also saw businesses offering products, garden furniture and accessories, natural beauty products and homemade cakes, preserves and pickles.

And Wyevale Garden Centre hosted its children’s zone to keep youngsters entertained with face painting, seed planting and crafts, while the Andover Town Band and Sing for Fun performed.

Town centre manager Gemma Thompson said: “Great atmosphere, lots of stalls with high quality and unique products.

“Many of the plant stalls sold nearly all their stock. Lovely to see such a buzz on the High Street.”

The partnership is now hoping to repeat the fair’s success and make the event a regular feature in the town’s event calendar.
