A VILLAGE primary school gardening club has received a boost to its growing endeavours thanks to the effort of three dads.
Hatherden Primary School parents Doug Evans, Nigel Luke and Barry Giles banded together to install two new raised beds for the school’s gardening club.
Mrs Smith, head of year and leader of the School Gardening Club, said: “I am absolutely delighted that the three have given up their time to construct the new beds, the children will be so excited, and particularly on one of the hottest days of the year.”
Mrs Smith kept the three men going in the hot weather with cups of tea and ice lollies.
Walworth Industrial Estate business Buildbase supplied the materials at a discounted price for the project.
Green-fingered pupils can now grow all kinds of vegetables next term thanks to the efforts of those involved.
