A BREWERY chain has said it was surprised after the landlord of a Weyhill pub decided to pull his last pint.
The Weyhill Fair closed this week with signs outside stating that it had ‘ceased trading’ and no further explanation.
Landlord Mark Lazenby had run the pub for a number of years and when contacted by the Advertiser did not wish to comment further.

But the closure has not only come as a surprise to some in Andover but also owners Fullers, which owns more than 380 pubs, inns and hotels across the south of England.
A spokesman for the brewery company said: “The tenant of The Weyhill Fair has sadly decided to leave and the timing of this has taken us by surprise.
“We are working on finding a new tenant and we will reopen the pub as quickly as possible.”
The pub had run its 25th Weyhill Beer Fest in July which was deemed a success.
