WINDS of up to 65mph could be felt across Hampshire, the Met Office has warned.
A new yellow weather warning – meaning be aware – comes into force from 6pm on Thursday.
The warning will be valid until 9am on Friday.
Gusts of between 45 and 50mph could be seen inland and around exposed coasts but could possibly reach 60 to 65mph.
The Met Office said the winds could be accompanied by “short-lived” outbreaks of very heavy rain in places.
They also said there was a potential risk of damage to buildings, falling trees and branches, which could cause injuries and danger to life as well as large waves.
Travel and power supplies could also be affected.
